i think a kill counter would be awesome, that'd make it worth it to kill 700 puny little enemies while your farming stuff

I'd also like to point out that while you maybe able to kick the daylights out of 1 or 2 groups of low level, aggro 20 or 25 of them all at once and even the strongest warrior with his superior absorbtion/vigor/strength/swordsmanship armor is going to be in for a bit of trouble especially when they start running out of energy and things start lobbing spells and arrows over the horde of ticked off lowbie warriors. As the saying goes, you can kick 1 kindergartern in the head and win, now try kicking 60 of them in the head before they swarm you under and bite your kneecaps off.

What I don't understand is the how the to hit is calculated when talking 10+ level difference. If a level 15 player was confronted by a group of level 4 scorpions, how in heck could they hit so hard? Not only that but why is the heck does it take almost the same amount of swings as it did whan I was level 5 to kill them?

I agree +1. In the wild, not all beasts will attack you straight out, in fact most will run away. Even those larger than you and clearly more powerful will sooner run away than fight. I think if something is so low level that you don't get xp it shouldn't auto-aggro and if something is even lower than this (you level 12, something is level 2) then it should try to run from you.

I like the idea also of being able to get close to a mob to look at it...

And on the topic of realism: we should always be thirsting after realism in games, that's why they progress.
